Welcome, IL Rider Jeanie!
The Iron Lilies Foundation is so happy to introduce Jeanie Conti, the newest IL Rider!
"Growing up in an all-female household, I’ve always connected to women and valued the idea of sisterhood. This appreciation for female camaraderie carried into my adult life, in which I played in all girl bands with the purpose of bringing forth a riot girl mentality with a fun twist. During this time I started riding scooters, not only because I was attracted to the aesthetic, but also because I liked being out in the elements.
After about 4 years I sold my second scooter, a stripped down Honda Ruckus that made me feel like a mini Mad Max, with the intention of eventually upgrading to the real deal and getting a motorcycle. It wasn’t until I started dating my husband and riding on the back of his bike that I returned to my original intention and bought my first bike, a Suzuki S40. Six months later I bought my Harley Sportster 883, the bike I currently ride.
Although I always wanted to bring my desire for sisterhood into my riding life, I struggled until now to find other female riders. In the past, I was the founder and sole member of Cooters on Scooters and the Iron Tulips, two fearsome girl gangs of my own invention. Now I’m glad to have real, empowered girls who empower me on the ride."
Welcome to the Iron Lilies, Jeans, we are stoked to ride with you!
